Janice Girardi has traveled throughout Southeast Asia since the early 1970’s, where she has had the opportunity to meet and work with some of the finest stone cutters and jewelers in the world. Janice currently resides in Bali, Indonesia and her jewelry line is sold around the world, most notably in the USA where she sells to a variety of speciality stores and galleries. Janice’s artistic sense of color and design has given her work a distinctive name not only in the fashion industry, but also in the classical art of adornment. Uniquely combining modern elegance with ancient drama in her designs, Janice’s work has become well known for its unusual combinations of metals, stones and mixed media. Janice’s use of color and shape bring these elements together creating elegant and truly innovative pieces of jewelry.
Beyond gemstones and jewelry, Janice also pours her heart into animal welfare as the founder and director of BAWA (Bali Animal Welfare Association). Janice founded BAWA as a way to care for Bali’s animals in need and to campaign for animal rights and effective animal welfare laws. BAWA’s work includes 24/7 emergency rescue and treatment for animals in distress. BAWA vaccinates, sterilizes, rehabilitates, fosters, adopts, educates and advocates. BAWA is a non-profit. Profits from the BAWA collection go into funding BAWA’S work and saving the lives of animals in Bali and beyond. www.bawabali.com
